OneShow Interactive Winners

The OneShow winners were announced on Friday night, and it would appear it was a tough competition this year, with only 60 pencils handed out. (I think this is lower than usual?) Over the next week, anyone that has a OneShow winner or indeed a finalist, please send it in to us.

On a local note Australia did it tough once again :

George Patterson/Y&R's Boony doll was a huge success here. To find out more about this innovative piece, its worth taking a look at this article from the Sydney Morning Herald Well done guys!

A little disappointed we didn't achieve a pencil for Samsung, but hey the work we were up against in that category was phenomenal !

Clio Finalists 2006

Australia has managed just one finalist in this years Clio Internet Awards. Again we've kept our head high in the other categories so it's not a total loss.

Congrats go to Tribal DDB for their McDonalds site. Let's hope it brings home a gold.

I can't see any NZ finalists so we aren't that bad :)

B3ta Reinvents the Banner Ad

goatse-banner.gif

With consumer created content this weeks biggest buzz word I thought this was quite fitting.

From b3ta "Banner ads don't work. Everyone ignores them. So let's save the online advertising industry and reinvent the damn things. Show us the kind of web advertising that would make you click..."

MINI video viral

glue London create personalised video viral campaign for MINI.

glue London have created a viral campaign for MINI to tie in with the launch of the new MINI Cooper S JCW GP Kit. Using video application combined with a remarkable level of personalised content, the viral has been created to showcase the new model.

With tongue firmly in cheek the concept for the viral centres around the idea that men aren't real men anymore due to the rise of the metrosexual. Users are asked to visit the website https://www.aveaword.com/ where they can nominate friends who may be demonstrating unmanly characteristics. The unsuspecting friend then receives a personalised email from their friend advising them that 'someone wants to ave a little word'. At the website they get a personal video message from a character who seems to know a lot about them including their job, girlfriend's name and most importantly their worst crimes against mankind. They are encouraged to 'sort themselves out' and are encouraged to enjoy the visual feast of the MINI Cooper S JCW GP Kit model for inspiration.

Webby Awards.

The webby's are a combination of judges votes on one hand an peoples votes on the other. It's really good because it's about the online community as distinct from awards which tend to apply the analogue judging to digital some of the time.

The winners here.

There's a huge range of work, and all generally good work. Check it out.

(btw unashamed plug - Poke seems to do quite well we got two this year, and a couple last year as well...)
