Have been seeing a few of these types of banners around. Try and do this, but you can't. I feel this banner is giving a negative message, that the the army will not make it to the top of Everest. Publicis should be ashamed of itself. A blatant rip-off of the recent Reebok trainer ad... same format, same idea.

I can't believe they have the nerve to enter this into an awards submission.

What a great brief. What an underwhelming execution. You'd think that the subject matter would produce a more interesting idea. It's not much of a climb.
