The Rear View camera ad relies on a special javascript that was deployed on the entire media-site during the campaign.
One server log every users pageviews and referring sites. Another server generate up-to date screenshots of the relevant pages.
When an user enters a page with the ad, our logging server will relay which pages the user have visited and correct screenshots will be loaded into the HTML page.
Thus clicking on the ad allow you to back trough your actual browsing history; showing what´s behind you, just like a rear view camera in Volkswagen cars.
