VW really like their webcam banners. Almap BBDO did one back in Feb this year and now this goes even further using voice recognition and actual video calling to get the idea across. The actual creative (text on a white background) also seems a little stark for my liking.
The same argument applies here about webcams in banners but this time you need to have a friend with a webcam that wants to chat.
I'm always split with these. On one hand I love pushing banners to do more and on the other I miss highly crafted, interesting creative that shows the product benefit vs pure tech.
User: "hey... I'm calling from a banner! Amazing!!!!"
Friend: "What...?"
User: "Nevermind...."
Friend: "Huh? just come over to my desk"
